Symbol/Interval Synchronization allows to double-click on a symbol name from Level I or BackTesting windows to have all listening windows in your workspace display this symbol. Without retyping the symbol, you can examine the Chart, Level II, Time & Sales, Bar Table, and News information for the symbol. Alternatively, you can enter the symbol or interval into Symbol/Interval Toolbar and click on "Apply All" button.
Multi-Color Symbol/Interval buttons enable you to customize synchronization between workspace components. They are located at the top right corner of each window, next to minimize/maximize/close buttons. Click on Symbol/Interval buttons to change the button color.
Here is the interpretation of button colors:
- Red means ignore all symbol/interval updates, i.e. lock the current symbol/interval. This is useful for locking the chart interval.
- Gray means accept all symbol/interval updates. This is the default setting for all windows.
- Any other color means accept only those symbol/interval updates sent from other windows with the same button color. This is useful for example for linking Level I window and Charts: when you double-click on a symbol in Level I window, it automatically updates Charts with the same button color while not changing Charts with a different button color linked to another Level I window.
Here is the table summarizing type of updates each window can listen for:
| Window | Symbol | Interval
|
|---|
| Chart | Yes | Yes
|
| Bar Table | Yes | Yes
|
| Time & Sales | Yes | No
|
| Level II | Yes | No
